As global mobile operators start renewing their infrastructure by fading out previous generation gears and using newer technologies, network coverage of Pokefi’s 1st generation devices (launched in 2017 with a “8658” starting S/N) and 2nd generation devices (launched in 2018-2019 with a “3515” starting S/N) are also impacted in limited locations.
While SmartGo has been updating the Pokefi devices to keep it up-to-date with the technology changes, the upgradability of these mentioned 1st & 2nd generation Pokefi is approaching the limit. As a result, we foresee that those devices may not be able to connect to the network at those limited locations now and in the future. Unfortunately, going forward, you will experience the possibility of reduced coverage.
Owners can opt to take actions from the following courses:
-
Continue to use the these mentioned 1st & 2nd generation Pokefi as the impacted locations are still limited, albeit we expect that the impact will broaden gradually. While we are going on using our best effort to minimize the impact, we suggest preparing a backup service for your trips
-
